currently listening to: summer by india.arie ft. rascal flatts
india.arie is one of those consummate artists who pulls you in with her soulful singing and amazingly thoughtful songwriting. it would be a shame to just categorize her music as "r&b" - she transends mere labels and creates music for all listeners. as you know from a previous post, you all should know i'm a rascal flatts FANATIC. this version above is a live performance on jools holland sans rascal flatts. still wonderful. still perfect for this time of year. sad to see summer go - not ready for fall... DO IT!
back to work baby.
this is one of my absolute FAVORITE purchases for three reasons:
1. it was less than $12 and from ross...
2. high quality stitching and darts around the waist giving it a 1950s silhouette
3. the watercolor flower design is quite pretty in person.
obviously i had to wear this dress and photograph it for my first day back to work. during my commute i found this random lot which was far enough away from looky-loos that i felt comfortable vogue-ing in front of my tripod...
dress: ross shoes: DSW necklace: charming charlies jacket: thrift - i forgot where though :/ sunnies: ray-bans
being powerful is like being a lady. if you have to tell people you are - you aren't.

Isn't it funny how many vacant/random spots you stumble upon as a fashion blogger? I've found some of the coolest and totally random spots in Burlington as a result of taking my outfit pictures.

Have I been living in a box? India Arie and Rascal Flatts together on a song?
ReplyDeleteGranted I don't have a tripod and worthwhile photographer (ahem, BF), when I am out and about, I do find myself looking around me "scouting" for blog photo spots - who knew the sides of buildings could be so interesting? ;o)
