currently listening to: cleveland by machine gun kelly
machine gun kelly is clearly named after the famous mobster, but more known for his rapid-fire flow. as a new MC quickly gaining national attention i'm more than proud to display this cleveland-inspired theme song on my blog. take a listen!

i'm back home in cleveland, ohio.
in new york there is a saying that: "if you can make it here you can make it anywhere." this afternoon while deplaning, i thought about this phrase and thought about how INACCURATE it is. to me, its pretty easy to make it in new york - there is always and abundance of jobs and its one of the largest [if not the largest] single city economy in the nation. to me, the small-big cities like: milwaukee, st. louis, kansas city, cleveland etc... are the cities where if you make it there - in cities that were crippled by the recession YEARS before the rest of the nation - you seriously can make it anywhere. i can't wait to move back home to cleveland and start my life.

anyways, enough of my hometown love obsession... i wore this outfit to a ladies-only dinner with friends at a local restaurant that features south american cuisine. the food is absolutely divine.
i was inspired to wear this outfit because of a floral arrangement i have on my dining table. i'm becoming quite the "crafter" since i've had a bit of time this summer to actually decorate my apartment... one year after moving in. better late than never right?

outfit: forever 21

i ordered the 6oz churrasco steak which was AMAZING. this place is easily one of my favorite spots in houston....

currently listening to: atx by alberta cross
it took me a while, but i can now say that i am an alberta cross fan. the new york times describes alberta cross as "a british take on southern rock...alberta cross sets aside those american bands' redemptive undercurrents of blues and gospel; instead it plunges into the very english despair of bands like pink floyd..." i couldn't agree more. their sound is space-like and cool to the touch.

my love of austin, texas knows no bounds.
don't get me wrong - i truly love living in houston, but austin has an eclectic aura about it. the rolling hills hide local treasures and the most known-unknown diner restaurants.

everything is original and the nightlife is boisterous. after hearing some rather unfortunate news last week, i took advantage of a one-night trip to austin with a big group of friends. we visited a watering hole and uncle billy's brew & que which was an experience...

HOLY CAKE BALLS!
in the morning we ate at torchy's tacos and holy cacao! torchy's is one of the more unique eateries in austin. located in a food trailer park, the tacos are sizable, always savory and uniquely named. i got "the democrat" - shredded beef, lime wedges, cilantro, onions, queso fresco, avocado and salsa... it was so good - i forgot to get a photo. eep! holy cacao is my favorite place to get cake balls [or pops] in texas. they are so moist and sinfully decadent.

my friends opted for sandy's burgers for ice cream and 'shakes... which were delicious. we didn't "cone" them though we thought about it...

i'm still catching up on outfits - this one is nothing special. my friends and i hard a wine dinner date to plan our austin trip. the outfit i traveled in should be posted later on this week after i solve my internet issues on wednesday... ugh.
